A rescue operation was launched on the Greek island of Samothrace after a woman was injured following a fall in a remote natural area known for its waterfalls and steep terrain.

The incident occurred in the area of Fonias waterfalls, a popular but challenging hiking destination, where emergency services were alerted after the woman sustained injuries from the fall.

Firefighting and rescue teams quickly mobilized to reach the inaccessible location. According to authorities, nine firefighters with two vehicles were deployed to the scene.

Due to the rugged landscape, rescuers had to carefully navigate difficult terrain in order to reach the injured woman and safely extract her.

After reaching her, the rescue teams managed to transport the woman to a more accessible point, ensuring her safe evacuation from the area.
