Two foreign nationals, aged 37 and 44, were arrested on the Greek island of Mykonos on Wednesday in connection with drug trafficking.
The two men were arrested around midday on Aug. 19 after police investigated information and conducted discreet surveillance. Authorities determined that the suspects allegedly trafficked drugs and used a parked vehicle to conceal the quantities they intended to distribute on the island.
Drugs and cash seized
Police seized a total of:
- 365.8 grams of MDMA in six packages
- 76.3 grams of pink cocaine in 19 packages
- 36.5 grams of cocaine in 41 packages
- 36 narcotic pharmaceutical tablets without a prescription
- €65,900 in cash
- $125
According to the Hellenic Police, the cash was allegedly generated through drug trafficking.
Authorities also seized three mobile phones, a precision scale and packaging materials.
Criminal charges
A felony-level case file was filed against the two suspects for the possession, storage and trafficking of narcotic substances.
The investigation followed information that led police to monitor the two men and their use of the parked vehicle to conceal the drugs.
