Greek authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a 59-year-old man accused of violently attacking a 22-year-old woman during a dispute over a parking space in a central district of Athens. Police are currently searching for the suspect, who is believed to be in hiding.
The warrant was issued on Wednesday after a public prosecutor filed charges of serious intentional bodily harm and ordered the suspect’s immediate arrest.
Attack during parking dispute
The incident took place on Saturday afternoon on a street in the Pangrati area of Athens. According to the investigation so far, the altercation began when the young woman attempted to move her vehicle out of a parking space.
The man allegedly confronted her, claiming she was delaying him from going to work. The verbal exchange quickly escalated into a physical confrontation.
Victim injured and hospitalised
During the attack, the 59-year-old is said to have struck the woman in the face and knocked her to the ground. The 22-year-old suffered a leg injury and was taken to hospital, where she received medical treatment and was fitted with a leg brace.
She was later discharged after receiving first aid. Despite ongoing police efforts, the suspect has not yet been located.
