Greek long jumper Miltos Tentoglou has been named among the 10 nominees for European Athlete of the Year following an outstanding season that culminated in his victory in the long jump at the Ultimate Championship in Budapest.

Tentoglou matched the Greek national record this year with a jump of 8.66 meters, adding another major title to an already decorated career. The Greek champion has now won three world titles and two Olympic gold medals.

Greece also has representation in the women’s Rising Star category, with Eleni Iakovaki included among the nominees.

European Athletics will announce the three finalists in each of the four categories on Oct. 1. The winners will be revealed on Oct. 24 at the Golden Tracks awards ceremony in Lausanne.
