Monaco overcame Olympiacos BC (68-78) on Friday evening at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi to finally qualify for a EuroLeague final after being stopped in the quarterfinals in 2022 and semi-finals in 2023 by the same Piraeus Club.

Evan Fournier’s 31 points weren’t enough for Giorgos Bartzokas’ Reds, who trailed for most of the game.

The reigning French champions, coached by Greek legend Vassilis Spanoulis, will face Fenerbahçe in the final on Sunday, as the Turkish team downed reigning champions Panathinaikos Athens hours earlier at the same venue.

Monaco’s qualification at the Final Four is the first for a French league team since Limoges in 1993. The two Greek rivals will face off on Sunday afternoon for third place.

Olympiacos made its fourth consecutive EuroLeague Final Four appearance this year after being present in 2022 in Belgrade, in Kaunas in 2023 and last year in Berlin.
