Μake us preferred on Google Panathinaikos has reportedly completed a major transfer after “marathon” negotiations with Girona, reaching an agreement with the Spanish club for the signing of Azzedine Ounahi.
Several clubs had reportedly approached the Moroccan midfielder or been involved in talks over his signing in recent weeks, but Ounahi’s preference was ultimately to return to Panathinaikos and wear the club’s jersey again.
The overall deal is reported to be worth €16 million, with Girona receiving €14 million plus a further €2 million in performance-related bonuses. A 20% sell-on clause is also reportedly included. Ounahi himself is set to sign a substantial contract, expected to earn around €3.5 million a year over a 3+1 year deal.
The transfer is the most expensive in the Greek club’s history.
