Starting on June 17, LOT Polish Airlines will begin direct flights from Warsaw to Thessaloniki, offering Polish travelers the opportunity to purchase individual tickets for the first time, independent of tour packages.
These flights will operate daily until October 31, and four times a week from November to March, as announced by the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO). This announcement came during a special event held in Warsaw by the GNTO’s Polish branch in collaboration with LOT.
The event, aimed at promoting Central Macedonia to the Polish market ahead of the flight launch that took place in Warsaw, garnered significant attention from Polish tour operators.
For the inaugural flight on June 17, Polish journalists from local media outlets will join the trip to Thessaloniki, as part of a press trip organized by the GNTO’s Polish office in cooperation with LOT and with the support of the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization (TTO). The journalists will produce articles to promote the region to the Polish audience.
The event was attended by representatives from the Central Macedonia Region, the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization (TTO), the Thessaloniki Convention Bureau (TCB), the Halkidiki Tourism Organization (HTO), and the Pierian Tourism Development & Promotion Organization (PTDPO). From the Polish side, in addition to tour operators, two journalists from “Nowa Turystyka,” one of Poland’s largest tourism portals, were also present.
During the event, which included a raffle for two round-trip tickets on LOT flights and overnight stays provided by the TTO, Greece’s Ambassador to Warsaw, Niki Kampa, and Robert Ludera, the director of LOT’s Connections Department and board member, delivered opening speeches.
