U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday he is setting a new 10- to 12-day deadline for Russia to make progress toward ending the war in Ukraine, expressing frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin over the continued hostilities.

Speaking in Scotland during a visit that includes meetings with European leaders and rounds of golf, Trump said he is disappointed with Putin and is shortening the 50-day deadline he had initially set earlier this month.

“I’m setting a new deadline—about 10 or 12 days from today,” Trump told reporters during a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. “There’s no reason to wait… We’re just not seeing any progress,” he added.

Trump, who has been holding meetings in Scotland, had signaled earlier on Monday that he intended to cut the original 50-day timeline due to his growing dissatisfaction with the Kremlin’s approach.

“I’m disappointed with President Putin,” Trump said alongside Prime Minister Starmer ahead of their bilateral talks. “I’ll be reducing the 50 days I gave him—cutting that down to fewer days,” he emphasized.
