US President Donald Trump issued fresh threats against Iran, saying any attack on a ship passing through the Strait of Hormuz would draw an immediate US military response. In a social media post, Trump said that going forward, if Iran strikes a vessel in the strait with a missile, rocket, drone, or any other weapon, the US will respond by bombing and destroying “a bridge or an electric power plant.”
The same post indicated potential targets could include infrastructure located near or within Iran’s capital, Tehran.
