Greece’s Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC) will publish updated financial data on the gambling market every month on its website, in a move aimed at boosting transparency, the regulator said.

The data will be released by the 10th of each month, once operators have submitted their reports to the commission and tax authorities.

The HGC said the initiative would give the public and the market access to reliable, comparable and up-to-date information, improving understanding of how the sector is developing. The figures will be broken down by distribution channel.

Releasing its first set of data, the regulator said the market grew significantly in January–August 2026 compared with the same period last year.

Adjusted total gaming turnover (TGR) rose 10.4% to 11.68 billion euros from 10.58 billion euros. Gross gaming revenue (GGR) increased 4.2% to more than 2.06 billion euros.

State revenue from the public participation levy rose 7.9% to 484.5 million euros, while withholding tax on players’ winnings posted the biggest gain, jumping 27.3% to 369.4 million euros.
