The documentary “Melania” held its official greek premiere at the Athens Center on Sunday night, attracting prominent figures from the country’s political, business and social circles.

Despite heavy rain and stormy weather, guests arrived in large numbers for the first screening of the documentary, which focuses on “Melania Trump’s life in the days leading up to her husband’s January 2025 inauguration”.

The evening was hosted by the U.S. ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, who organized the screening alongside Greek singer Konstantinos Argyros and Greek-American businessman Eric Vasilatos as well as their respective spouses.

The Athens Center, a well-known events venue in the capital, welcomed guests from across Greece’s public life with entrepreneurs, politicians, shipowners and media personalities in attendance.

Arriving in a white gown in keeping with the evening’s black-and-white dress code, Guilfoyle spoke with admiration about Melania Trump, describing her as a devoted mother and wife and praising her work for children and women.

“It is such an incredible honor,” Guilfoyle said, calling Trump “a remarkable first lady” who has achieved significant accomplishments and enjoys admiration and affection in the United States.

Among those present were Migration and Asylum Minister Thanos Plevris and his wife; Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Giannis Kefalogiannis; and New Democracy lawmaker Dionysia Theodora Avgerinopoulou.

The premiere also yielded a notable piece of news and added a further diplomatic dimension to the evening. Speaking to reporters at the Athens Center, U.S. Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle revealed that Donald Trump is expected to visit Greece in the near future.
