Unstable weather will affect much of mainland Greece, beginning on Thursday, as an end-of-spring low front will first bring possibly significant rainfall along the western coast and then further inland on Friday.
Precipitation is expected to be particularly intense in northwest Greece, the northern Ionian Sea and parts of the mainland, with a risk of flash floods in the low-lying areas.
The low front, already christened as “Ines”, will also be accompanied by strong to gale-force southerly winds, which means the prospect of Saharan dust plaguing much of the country’s southern half.
The weather is expected clear up on Sunday, with sunshine and normal temperatures for the season returning.
