Frida Kahlo: Beyond the Icon Exhibition in Athens

The immersive exhibition exploring Frida Kahlo’s life, art and revolutionary spirit through digital storytelling and virtual reality technology will run in Athens through July 12

Frida Kahlo: Beyond the Icon – The Immersive Experience has extended its run in Athens following strong public response, with organizers announcing the event will continue through July 12, 2026.

Hosted at the Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Center in Athens, the exhibition invites visitors into the world of Frida Kahlo through virtual reality, digital technology and immersive storytelling.

Rather than simply recounting Kahlo’s life, the exhibition aims to create an experiential journey inspired by the iconic Mexican artist’s personal story, artistic vision and revolutionary ideas.

Presented by VideoTheatre, the production uses advanced digital visuals and multidimensional narration to highlight defining moments from Kahlo’s life and work.

The exhibition originally opened on February 6 and will now remain open until Sunday, July 12.
