The Central Markets and Fisheries Organization has released the opening hours for the fish markets ahead of Clean Monday.

The Central Markets and Fisheries Organization (OKAA) has released the opening hours for the Central Market ahead of Clean Monday (March 4).

At the heart of Athens’ food trade, Athens’ central Varvakeios Market is a lively hub known for its fresh seafood, meat, and poultry vendors. The market features 120 fishmongers spread across 2,000 square meters, making it a key destination for Clean Monday shopping.

Most shops will stay open overnight from Sunday night into Monday morning, with some closing at noon, others by 3:00pm. However, the market butcher shop will be closed.
