Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis was received by the Premier of the People’s Republic of China, Li Qiang in Beijing on Friday, before meeting with President of China, Xi Jinping.

During his meeting with Li Qiang at the Great Hall of the People, Prime Minister Mitsotakis emphasized the excellent level of Greek-Chinese relations. He highlighted the Strategic Partnership between Greece and China, outlining that the upgrade of two Chinese credit rating agencies is a tangible proof of Beijing’s confidence in the prospects of the Greek economy.

The Greek PM added that Greece continued to count on China as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council to further promote global peace and international order based on rules.

Following this, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis laid a wreath at the Monument to the People’s Heroes in Tiananmen Square. Shortly after, he met with President Xi Jinping of China.
