Μake us preferred on Google Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis criticized members of his own cabinet at the close of a Council of Ministers meeting for not doing enough to defend the government’s record publicly.
Reaffirming that elections will take place in spring 2027, he told ministers they need a stronger media presence, particularly in regional outlets, and that they shouldn’t limit themselves to promoting their own portfolios but should be well-informed enough to defend the government’s overall record.
His remarks came after visible frustration in recent weeks over many ministers’ absence from television debates. He closed by urging the cabinet to “act with even greater urgency, within the framework of a collective political center.”
Mitsotakis argued that time is on the government’s side, saying it exposes the weaknesses of political rivals while giving his party room to lay out its own plans, including at the upcoming Thessaloniki International Fair, where he said the government would unveil its first policy directions through 2030.
He expressed confidence that the party can outperform its current standing in the polls, saying only his government has an actual plan for the years ahead.
