A tense incident unfolded on Saturday morning at a public hospital in western Athens when a man in apparent psychological distress produced an air gun outside the facility, triggering a swift police response.
According to information released by local media, the man attempted to enter the hospital’s psychiatric clinic. However, the unit was closed at the time, and he was unable to gain access.
Following this, he allegedly became increasingly agitated and pulled out an air gun, causing panic among those present at the scene.
Police were immediately called to the hospital and arrived shortly afterwards. Officers intervened and eventually escorted the man away from the premises without further escalation.
Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported during the incident.
