French and Greek rap artists will share the stage in Athens on Thursday, October 29, for the first edition of “Fuζion: A Blending of Greek and French Rap Culture,” an event bringing together musicians and DJs from both countries to celebrate their intersecting sounds and cultural influences.

Hosted at ILION Plus, the event is organized by the French rap collective Hecate and the Greek collective Koma. The lineup features live performances by Lunar, Homr and Indra, Vikkie, Encor, and Tara and friends, alongside DJ sets by LECMV, GREENnPURPLEZ, and Tzoug.

The gathering aims to create a meeting point for the two rap scenes, with artists sharing their music, experiences, and creative perspectives in a night dedicated to cross-cultural collaboration.

Two collectives bring underground sounds together

Founded in Lyon in February 2024, Hecate operates as both a collective and a media platform focused on music and the arts. Through events, street interviews, video blogs, and reports, it highlights different forms of cultural expression while seeking to connect people and organizations across the music scene.

The collective places particular emphasis on diversity and accessibility, with a central goal of bringing people together through a shared passion for music and live events.

Koma, meanwhile, emerged from a desire to unite and showcase the distinctive sounds of the underground scene. Working at the intersection of hip-hop and electronic music, the collective explores the connections between two genres that continue to evolve and influence one another.

Through “Fuζion,” the two groups bring these approaches together, creating a space for Greek and French artists to exchange ideas and explore their common ground.

Homr embodies the event’s Greek-French identity

Among the performers, Homr stands out as a direct link between the two cultures. A Greek-French artist who grew up between Lyon and Athens, he draws on both places in his music, blending the two languages and cultural influences through his lyrics, sound, and visual work.

With five EPs and several singles released, Homr is also a member of Koma. His participation reflects the central idea behind “Fuζion”: bringing Greek and French rap together through artists whose personal experiences cross national and linguistic boundaries.

Homr has also collaborated with Lunar on the track “Success,” while he previously made a guest appearance at one of her live shows at Off The Hook, a music event in Greece.

Lunar represents a new voice in Greek rap

Lunar, one of the emerging voices in the Greek rap scene, will also perform at the inaugural Athens event. She began writing and releasing music at 16, drawing on personal experiences, thoughts, and emotions to shape her lyrics and sound.

Her discography includes 10 singles, two EPs, and one album, through which she has developed a distinctive musical identity.

Her collaboration with Homr on “Success” provides another connection between the artists on the lineup, reinforcing the event’s emphasis on creative exchange.

Vikkie, Indra, Encor, and Tara will also join the performers, sharing the stage with Greek and French artists for a night that brings together different musical influences and personal experiences.

With its combination of live performances and DJ sets, “Fuζion” seeks to highlight the connections between the two countries’ rap cultures while giving underground artists an opportunity to meet, collaborate, and introduce their sounds to new audiences.
