New details have emerged in an ongoing investigation in Kefalonia involving a 66-year-old man who is also connected to a broader criminal case concerning a young woman. The latest revelations relate to separate allegations of financial fraud made against him by a former client.

According to the complaint, the man—who previously worked as an accountant in western Greece before later moving to Athens—allegedly caused significant financial damage to a client by creating companies in the client’s name without their knowledge. The accusations state that personal tax credentials were used without authorization to register multiple business entities.

Allegations of unauthorized company creation

The complainant claims that several so-called “phantom companies” were established under his identity, leading to substantial tax and social security debts.

“He had, without my knowledge, created additional companies in my name using my tax credentials illegally,” the man said in his statement. “He was the only person who had access to them.”

He added that the financial consequences have been severe, stating he has been held responsible for debts linked to those companies.

The complainant’s lawyer said the alleged fraud has resulted in liabilities exceeding one million euros and confirmed that legal action has been taken against those believed to be responsible, as well as any possible accomplices.

Link to separate criminal investigation

The allegations have gained further attention after it was revealed that the same 66-year-old is also referenced in an unrelated criminal investigation in Kefalonia involving a young woman. Authorities are reportedly examining his role in that case as well.

The complainant said he became alarmed after learning of this connection, noting that he had already filed a lawsuit against the former accountant for the alleged financial misconduct.

Statements from individuals involved

A 23-year-old transgender individual, who has given testimony in the separate investigation, told authorities that he had introduced the young woman involved in the Kefalonia case to the 66-year-old through an online group chat, describing him as someone who could provide financial support.

Legal representatives for the 66-year-old have questioned the nature of his relationship with the individuals involved, while also denying wrongdoing. His lawyer has publicly raised concerns about the circumstances surrounding the case.

Ongoing investigation

Authorities are continuing to examine all aspects of the case, including communications between the individuals involved during the night in question. According to testimony, phone contact was maintained between the parties up until the early hours, with conflicting accounts given about the sequence of events.
