Athens Metro’s Line 2 will undergo nighttime station closures starting Sunday, February 8, as part of ongoing track replacement and 5G network installation work. The closures will affect the section between Neos Kosmos and Syntagma stations from Sunday through Thursday evenings.

Stations Syntagma, Acropolis, Syngrou-Fix, and Neos Kosmos will close at 21:40, approximately two and a half hours earlier than usual. Syntagma station will remain open for Line 3, serving the route between Dimotiko Theatro, Doukissis Plakentias, and the airport.

During the closures, trains on Line 2 will operate between Anthoupoli–Panepistimio and Agios Ioannis–Elliniko. Last departures before the closures are scheduled as follows:

  • Anthoupoli to Elliniko: 21:25 from Anthoupoli, 21:37 from Panepistimio, 21:40 from Syntagma, 21:41 from Acropolis, 21:43 from Syngrou-Fix, and 21:44 from Neos Kosmos.
  • Elliniko to Anthoupoli: 21:25 from Elliniko, 21:33 from Agios Dimitrios, 21:36 from Agios Ioannis, 21:37 from Neos Kosmos, 21:39 from Syngrou-Fix, 21:41 from Acropolis, and 21:43 from Syntagma.

To maintain service for passengers traveling between Panepistimio and Agios Ioannis, OASA will operate temporary bus Line X15 from 21:40 until the end of metro service. The route will include the following stops:

  • Panepistimio → Agios Ioannis: Panepistimio, temporary Syntagma stop, Acropolis, temporary Fix stop, temporary Neos Kosmos stop, Agios Ioannis.
  • Agios Ioannis → Panepistimio: Agios Ioannis, temporary Neos Kosmos stop, Fix, Acropolis, Syntagma, and Panepistimio terminal (for disembarkation only).

Passengers are advised to plan their trips accordingly and use the temporary bus service during the affected hours.
