Athens Traffic Restrictions Set for Events Saturday

Traffic and parking restrictions will be introduced in central Athens on Saturday as the city hosts events honoring Saint Dionysius the Areopagite, the patron saint and first bishop of Athens

Traffic restrictions will be introduced in central Athens on Saturday, October 3, due to events marking the feast of Saint Dionysius the Areopagite, the patron saint and first bishop of Athens.

From 6 a.m. until the events conclude, stopping and parking will be prohibited in designated areas. Starting at 3 p.m. and continuing until the end of the events, traffic will be gradually halted on Skoufa, Lykavittou, Dimokritou, Solonos, Sekeri and Kanari streets, as well as at Filikis Etaireias Square.

Where the restrictions will apply

The measures will be enforced at the following locations:

Skoufa Street, between Omirou Street and Filikis Etaireias Square
Lykavittou Street, between Skoufa and Solonos streets
Dimokritou Street, between Skoufa and Solonos streets
Solonos Street, between Lykavittou and Kanari streets
Sekeri Street, along its entire length
Kanari Street, along its entire length
Filikis Etaireias Square

The Hellenic Police is calling on drivers to avoid traveling through the affected areas during the specified hours and to follow traffic signs and the instructions of traffic officers directing vehicles.

The measures are intended to facilitate traffic and prevent additional congestion in central Athens while the events are taking place.
