Μake us preferred on Google A bison was spotted roaming freely in the yard of a home in the Krini area of Trikala, catching residents of the village by surprise.
According to a video that was published online, Krini residents came face to face with an unusual visitor, as the bison strolled through the outdoor space of a private home.
The animal appears to move around the yard undisturbed, while a man tries to guide it off the property while keeping a safe distance. As shown in the video, the bison left after its brief visit and headed away from the house.
According to local website krinilive.gr, that first publicized the incident, officials have asked the entire village to remain on alert until the animal has been safely captured. The local authorities have urged residents to take precautions while the bison remains loose. They are asking people to shut yard gates and front doors immediately, keep children, elderly residents and pets indoors, and stay away from the animal.
Residents should not chase the bison, corner it or try to catch it with a lasso. A frightened or trapped bison can react unpredictably and may attack.
Authorities say a veterinarian and/or a properly trained crew are needed to safely contain and transport the animal. Anyone who spots the bison is asked to move away and immediately notify police or call 112 with the exact location.
