The body of a 57-year-old was pulled from the water off of the coast of Thessaloniki in the Thermaic Gulf on Sunday afternoon, according to reports at In.gr.

A preliminary investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Port Authority of Thessaloniki.

The body was found approximately 1 nautical mile from Arestou marina and the Hellenic Coast Guard was informed, which sent a boat to the scene to retrieve the body and brought it to a local fishing area on the outskirts of Thessaloniki called Kalamaria.

The port authority of Thessaloniki has ordered an autopsy on the body, which will be conducted by the forensics service of Thessaloniki.
