Authorities on the island of Kos are investigating the death of a young Czech man who was found hanged at the ancient agora (market) of Kos, a major archaeological site, according to local reports.
The man, believed to be between 20 and 25 years old, was discovered hanging from a tree by an employee arriving to open a nearby shop. A school group had reportedly been in the area shortly beforehand. Police sealed off the site and began the initial inquiry into the circumstances.
An ambulance transported the man to the island’s hospital, where his death was confirmed. A forensic examination is pending, and officials have not released further details at this stage.
