As the Europa Conference League Final game, to be held in Greece between Olympiacos and Fiorentina, gets closer, Greece’s Ministry of Civil Protection has security and potential ticket scams in its sights, according to a report at AMNA.
In preparation for the game, the Ministry intends to implement draconian security measures through the mobilization of 3000 police officers, an antiterrorism squad and other special services.
Additionally, it will divide the area around the stadium into at least five security areas. Tickets will be checked at all zones, says AMNA, and the security zone closest to the stadium will be comprised of a metal fence that will be built by a private company.
The Ministry is also cautioning people to be aware of ticket scams ahead of the game, as cases of fraud have already been committed or observed.
The Europa Conference League final will be held on May 29 at the OPAP Arena in Nea Philadelphia, which is north of Athens.
