A fire broke out on Lycabettus Hill in central Athens on Saturday morning, prompting an immediate response from firefighters and traffic police.
According to the Fire Service, the blaze started shortly before 10 a.m. near Sarantapichou Street. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the area as authorities moved quickly to secure the scene and facilitate firefighting operations.
Traffic Restrictions Implemented
To ensure the safety of both emergency personnel and motorists, traffic police introduced temporary road closures in the vicinity of the fire.
Vehicle circulation has been completely suspended on Sarantapichou Street, with the closure beginning at its intersection with Doxapatri Street.
Authorities have urged drivers traveling through central Athens to exercise caution, follow police instructions and use alternative routes until the situation is fully brought under control.
Firefighters remain at the scene as efforts continue to manage the incident.
