Former Survivor contestant Kostas Papadopoulos says he has received threatening phone calls following the incident in Menidi in which he is accused of assaulting a 14-year-old boy.
The case is scheduled to go to trial on February 4, 2027. The teenager reportedly required 10 stitches to the head after the incident.
Papadopoulos has firmly denied the assault allegations, claiming the minor was injured after falling while being chased outside his pastry shop in Menidi.
“I Have Reported the Threats to Police”
Speaking on the television program To Proino on May 28, 2026, Papadopoulos said he had already contacted authorities regarding the threats he received after the case became public.
“I took the mobile phone that had been stolen from the child I caught. One of the five entered my shop,” he said.
“Since the case became public, I have received two phone calls threatening my property. I went to the police and reported it, and since then it has stopped.”
Papadopoulos added that he was not afraid for his life and claimed public opinion in the area supported him.
“I’m not afraid for my life because justice is visible. The anger of the people is visible. All the businesses in the area come and tell me the same things,” he said.
Concerns Over Crime in the Area
The former reality TV contestant also spoke about what he described as growing criminal activity in the Menidi area, calling for stronger police protection for local businesses and residents.
“We have a major problem with delinquency,” he said, adding that shop owners need “protection from the police for our property.”
Papadopoulos Denies Hitting the Teenager
Papadopoulos insisted that he did not beat the 14-year-old but instead restrained him after the alleged theft.
“Did I perhaps use more force while restraining him when he was on the ground?” he said during the interview.
“He was begging me to let him go because he didn’t want to go to the police station. He told me he would return the phone himself if I let him go.”
