Four fires broke out in regions across Greece, some with low and others with higher intensity, prompting authorities in Thesprotia to send a 112 message urging people in some villages to evacuate.

The wildfire burning in Paramythia, Thesprotia, in the Epirus region broke out a little after 2 p.m. At 2:26 p.m., an emergency alert (112) was issued, urging residents to evacuate Gardiki, Skandalo, and Mandrotopos toward Paramythia.

Firefighting efforts are underway with significant mobilization from the Fire Service. Twenty-five firefighters, including one ground team from the 5th Special Forest Operations Unit (EMODE), are battling the blaze with eight fire engines, three aircraft, and one helicopter, while local government water trucks are assisting.

A second wildfire broke out in a rural forested area near the Public Power Corporation (PPC) substation on the island of Corfu. Fire crews are rushing to the scene, while firefighting aircraft have been deployed for water drops.

Separately, a forest fire erupted in the Agios Georgios area of Ancient Olympia, in the Peloponnese, the Fire Service said. A total of 58 firefighters, including three ground teams from the 6th and 18th EMODE units, are battling the blaze with 14 fire engines, seven aircraft, and one helicopter.

A wildfire was also reported in low vegetation in the Pedini area of Ioannina. The fire broke out around 1:40 p.m. under still unclear circumstances. According to the Fire Service, no residential areas are currently at risk.
