Well-known Greek-Albanian Eleni Foureira received widespread praise on social media, including from the BBC, for her heart-stopping performance at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest semi-finals competition.

Known simply as “Foureira” in Greece, she is well-known pop star in the country with a reputation for lively performances and her show last night in Sweden was the third time she took the Eurovision stage as a performer.

She participated in the Eurovision song contest in 2018 for Cyprus and, commenting in the BBC’s chat, her fans noted that she was “robbed” of the title when she came in second place.

Last night, fifteen countries participated in the Eurovision semifinal and ten received a pass to participate in the finals on May 11, including: Serbia, Portugal, Slovenia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Finland, Cyprus, Croatian, Ireland and Luxembourg.

Greece will participate with singer Marina Satti, who will sing a song called “Zari”, by creative director Fokas Evangelinos and choreographer Mecnun Giasar (Majnoon).
