The Hellenic Food Authority (EFET) has ordered the recall of a batch of feta cheese called GLAUKOS FROZEN FETA, FAO area 34 in the Atlantic Ocean, country of origin Spain, with the following details: Batch number: LOT 49930924, after it was deemed unsafe for the public.

In detail, the Regional Directorate of Epirus, during routine inspections, collected a sample of the item produced by the company GOGGAKIS S.A., and it concluded that it was non-compliant and unsafe as it was found to contain mercury levels exceeding the maximum permitted limit.

The product was tested by the 1st Department of the Chemical Service of Epirus and Western Macedonia under the General State Chemical Laboratory of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE).

EFET has demanded the immediate recall of the entire batch of this product, and the relevant inspections are already underway. At the same time, EFET urges consumers who have purchased this product not to consume it.
