An armed robbery unfolded early Thursday morning at a Hellenic Post (ELTA) branch in Loutraki, a seaside town west of Athens, when two masked suspects made off with €32,000 in cash.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred shortly before 8 a.m., as employees of a cash-in-transit company were replenishing ATMs at the post office. Authorities believe the perpetrators had been monitoring their routine and chose the timing of the delivery to carry out the attack.

One of the suspects remained inside the getaway vehicle, while the other approached the scene on foot armed with a Kalashnikov-style rifle. At gunpoint, he immobilized the employees and seized the cash.

The operation lasted only a few minutes. The suspects then fled the scene in their vehicle, heading in an unknown direction.
