A grim discovery in the northern Athens suburb of Psychiko has triggered a police investigation after human bones, including a skull, were found in a rocky area.
According to reports, a passerby came across the remains on Wednesday afternoon near the Church of Saint Dimitrios, on Chrysanthémon Street. The bones appeared to have been there for a long time, partially buried among rocks and soil.
Police officers quickly arrived at the scene, collected the remains, and sent them for anthropological analysis to determine their origin and age.
The case is now under investigation by the Department for the Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes in Filothei–Psychiko.
