Greece’s defense ministry this week announced the successful holding of a bilateral military exercise with US forces late last month up until May 8, coordinated by the special warfare command of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff (HNDGS).

The exercise, codenamed “Stolen Cerberus XΙI”, included Greek personnel from the general staff’s command, the underwater demolition unit (Seals) of the Hellenic Navy, the army’s parachute school and air force transport planes.

US personnel hailed from USAF 37th Airlift Squadron, with equipment used being three C-130J aircraft.

The exercise took place in the wider Athens-Piraeus area.

In a press release, HNDGS said that during the training, air cooperation, dropping supplies on land and sea, medical evacuation (MEDEVAC), as well as static line and military free fall jumps were performed, which contributed to increasing the level combat capability and interoperability between the participating forces of the two countries.
