A 37-year-old man from Nepal was found dead on Saturday afternoon inside a restroom at Athens International Airport, prompting an emergency response from authorities.
The incident occurred in the departures area of the airport, officially known as “Eleftherios Venizelos.” Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene after the man was discovered unconscious.
According to initial information, the man was already dead when paramedics arrived.
Authorities said he was found with a ligature around his neck, with early indications pointing to a possible suicide. His identity and nationality were confirmed through travel documents found in his possession.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
