Mitsotakis: Further Drop in Pump Gas Prices Expected

The PM signaled fuel price relief at this week's cabinet meeting and announced a two-month price freeze agreement with retailers and producers

The cabinet met on Tuesday morning, and in his opening remarks, Kyriakos Mitsotakis addressed fuel prices directly.

“A further drop in gas prices at the pump is expected,” the prime minister said. He also announced a series of checks aimed at keeping prices in line, saying the state’s oversight mechanisms would ensure that prices at the pump track the cost of crude. He pointed to an understanding reached with the market the previous day to hold fuel prices steady over the next two months, with the prospect of further cuts from September.
