Aviation and maritime authorities in Greece have launched an investigation after a civilian helicopter reportedly carried out dangerous maneuvers near a passenger ferry sailing this week between the northern Cycladic islands of Andros and Mykonos.

According to reports broadcast by the Mega Channel current affairs program Live News, the helicopter flew unusually low around the ferryboat Theofilos while it was operating a scheduled route in the central Aegean Sea. Witness images allegedly show the aircraft circling the vessel and approaching at a very close distance.

The incident has raised serious safety concerns among maritime officials and passengers, with reports indicating that the helicopter performed repeated aggressive or hazardous maneuvers near the ship.

Greek authorities have reportedly begun a preliminary investigation into the incident and requested assistance from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in order to identify both the aircraft and its pilot. Officials emphasized that the helicopter involved was civilian rather than military.
