Incidents of violence between drivers over parking spaces are becoming increasingly common in parts of Attica with the latest between two drivers taking place on Monday afternoon in Galatsi.

At around 1:30 p.m., two men aged 45 and 55 got into an argument, as the 45-year-old reportedly blocked the 55-year-old with his car while the latter was trying to leave the spot.

The two men came to blows, and the 55-year-old pulled out a folding knife and a knuckle-duster and attacked the 45-year-old. The latter was taken to Gennimatas Hospital to receive first aid.

Both men were subsequently arrested. A case file has been opened against both for bodily harm and insult, while the 55-year-old also faces charges for violating weapons legislation.

The incident occurred just hours after a similar case in Pangrati, where a man attacked a young woman over a parking dispute.
