Wednesday keeps spring on its toes with a scattered performance of rain and thunderstorms, especially across eastern, northern, and central Greece — plus a splash over the Sporades. The weather may be patchy, but it’s far from boring.

Expect early morning showers and isolated storms in parts of central and northern Greece, as well as the eastern mainland and islands. By afternoon, the inland areas will once again play host to local storms, especially in the mountains where things could get a bit rowdy.

Temperatures will hold close to seasonal norms, leaning on the mild side:

  • Western Macedonia: 5–19°C
  • Rest of Macedonia & Thrace: 8–21/22°C
  • Thessaly: 11–22/24°C
  • Epirus: 12–24/25°C
  • Central & Southern Mainland: 12–24/26°C
  • Ionian Islands: 14–25°C
  • Aegean Islands & Crete: 13–22/24°C

Winds will come mainly from the northwest:

  • Aegean: 4–5 Beaufort, possibly reaching 6 in the south
  • Kastellorizo: gusty west winds at 6–7 Beaufort
  • Ionian Sea: milder west winds at 3–4 Beaufort

In Athens, expect passing clouds and a chance of light rain early in the day and again after midday. Northerly winds at 2–4 Beaufort will keep things feeling fresh. Temperatures will range between 17 and 25°C.

Thessaloniki will see some light rain overnight and another chance of showers in the afternoon. Winds will shift from the south-southeast at 2–4 Beaufort, with highs peaking around 20°C.
