A 14-year-old boy remains hospitalized in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the University General Hospital of Heraklion (PAGNI) after suffering a serious head injury in a fall from an electric scooter.

According to available information, his condition is stable and his life is not believed to be in danger.

The accident occurred last Sunday in the Dafnes area, on the Stavrakia–Siva provincial road, adding to a growing number of similar incidents involving electric scooters.

According to local news outlet Patris, the teenager was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. A relative reportedly told authorities that the fall may have been caused by a defect in the road surface.

The investigation is being handled by the Second Police Department, which was alerted to the incident through media reports and has since launched a formal inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
