A video making the rounds on social media captures a heartwarming rescue attempt by a young woman who saved a kitten that had fallen into a storm drain in Thessaloniki.
The incident took place on Saturday afternoon when a father and his daughter were on a walk. When the father saw the kitten was trapped in the drain, he immediately lifted the heavy cover and pulled the animal out.
The family’s daughter, a 21-year-old nurse, quickly noticed that the kitten was not breathing. Without wasting any time, she began performing CPR in an attempt to revive it.
“I was extremely emotional. I couldn’t believe it. At first, I thought it wasn’t going to make it—it looked like it had already passed. But in the end, everything turned out fine,” the young woman told MEGA TV.
Her efforts paid off: just a few minutes later, the kitten came back to life. The woman subsequently called the vet, and after following instructions to ensure the kitten was safe, she gave it back to its mother.
