Athens Road Closures
Traffic will be halted, and parking will be prohibited from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in several central areas, including streets around the Church of Saint Dionysius the Areopagite and the nearby reservoir. Affected streets include Skoufa, Dimokritou, Lykavittou, Glykonos, Fokylidou, Herodotou, Iraklitou, and Patriarchou Ioakeim, as well as portions of Filiki Etaireia Square.
Piraeus Road Closures
In Piraeus, traffic disruptions will run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with parking banned from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., near the pier opposite the Church of Saint Spyridon. Roads affected include Vasilis Georgiou, Miaouli Quay, Ethnikis Antistaseos, and Poseidonos Quay.
Tram Adjustments
The Tram Line 7, connecting Asklipieio Voula to Agia Triada in Piraeus, will operate on a modified schedule due to the Blessing of the Holy Cross. Trams will temporarily terminate at SEF station, running the route Asklipieio Voula – SEF – Asklipieio Voula from the start of service until 1:00 p.m.
Authorities urge residents and commuters to plan their travel in advance, allow extra time, and use alternative routes where possible to avoid delays.
