A 15-year-old girl was hospitalized after consuming a large amount of alcohol at a seaside food and beverage establishment on the Greek island of Salamina, prompting the arrest of the venue’s manager and the girl’s father, authorities said.

The incident occurred Sunday night, when the teenager was at the café with a group of friends. After drinking what was described as an excessive amount of alcohol, she became seriously unwell.

An ambulance from Greece’s National Center for Emergency Care (EKAB) transported the girl to a hospital for treatment.

Police were notified of the incident, and officers from the Salamina Police Department arrested the 38-year-old manager of the establishment.

He faces charges of violating laws governing the sale of alcohol to minors, as well as exposing a minor to danger.

The girl’s 51-year-old father was also arrested on charges of exposing a minor to danger, following an order from the public prosecutor.
