A 76-year-old woman was found dead on a closed section of Greece’s E65 motorway near the town of Kalambaka on Monday, in what authorities have described as an unusual incident.
The woman was discovered on the stretch of road between Kalambaka and Mourgani, which remains under construction and has not yet been opened to traffic.

According to local reports, the woman’s car was found parked on the motorway, while her body was discovered approximately 100 meters away.
She had suffered severe head injuries, with initial assessments suggesting they were likely caused by a fall down the roadside embankment.
Authorities are investigating how the woman came to be on the closed section of the motorway and the circumstances that led to the fatal incident.
An autopsy has been ordered and is expected to provide further information about the cause of death as the investigation continues.
