Greece suffered a third straight defeat on Sunday evening in the group stage of the World Cup qualifying round, losing 3-1 to Denmark in an away game.

The Danes went ahead 3-0 in the first half with goals by Hojlund (21st), Andersen (40th) and Damsgaard (41st), with Christos Tzolis reducing the lead with a goal for the Greece side in the 63rd minute.

The final score was the same as in the previous defeat last week to Scotland in Glasgow.

The latest Group C defeat essentially ends the Greek side’s hopes for qualification to the World Cup.

Denmark and Scotland have 10 points in the group stage, with Greece at three and Belarus without a point.
