Emmanuel Karalis and Mondo Duplantis are gearing up for yet another head-to-head, this time at the lucrative Ultimate Championship — but hours before their showdown, the two pole vault stars decided to lighten the mood instead.
World Athletics has announced a total prize pool of $10 million for athletes competing in the event, which is being staged at the “Gyula Zsivotzky” stadium in Budapest. Among the big names set to compete are, unsurprisingly, the sport’s two leading pole vaulters.
Despite their rivalry on the runway, Karalis and Duplantis remain on excellent terms, and they proved it once again. The pair appeared together in a video posted on social media, dressed in their competition outfits and dancing, showing they enjoy each other’s company off the track just as much as on it.
The clip was shared by Karalis himself, known affectionately as “Manolo,” accompanied by a fitting caption: “Gold in my people.”
