Μake us preferred on Google Miltos Tentoglou kept up his run of outstanding performances, claiming yet another Diamond League win. Greece’s top long jumper triumphed in Zurich with a best effort of 8.45 meters, and now turns his attention to the Brussels final.
Tentoglou came out strong, opening with a jump of 8.25 meters despite a headwind. He then had two fouled attempts, which allowed Tajay Gayle to temporarily move ahead in the standings, also with 8.25 meters but a better second-best mark.
The Greek champion’s response was immediate. On his fourth jump, he landed at 8.45 meters with a favorable wind of 0.4 and retook the lead.
Gayle tried to threaten him, reaching 8.43 meters on his fifth attempt, but couldn’t turn the tables and finished second. Wayne Pinnock took third with a best jump of 8.33 meters.
This marked Tentoglou’s fourth Diamond League win of the season, following victories in Xiamen, Monaco, and Lausanne. With 31 points, he finished the regular season at the top of the standings and heads into the Brussels final on September 4-5 as one of the top favorites for the diamond trophy.
