A Complete Unknown (2024)
Winning a staggering number of accolades since its release, James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown follows a young Bob Dylan (Timothée Chalamet) as he climbs to stardom in 1960s New York City, navigating not-so-typical, occasionally tumultuous relationships with industry icons and his significant other, Joan Baez (Elle Fanning).
Chalamet has received widespread acclaim for his portrayal of Dylan, earning a BAFTA, a Critics’ Choice Award, and an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. The film itself has garnered an impressive 109 nominations and 15 wins so far. With the Academy Awards just around the corner, A Complete Unknown is building momentum as a strong contender for Best Picture of the Year.

Arcadia (2024)
Premiering at the 74th Berlinale, where it also received an award, Arcadia is the second feature film by Greek director and actor Yorgos Zois. This fantasy drama combines realism with metaphysical elements in a tale of love, loss, acceptance, and letting go.
The story follows Katerina, a neurologist, and Yannis, a former well-known doctor, as they drive through an isolated, off-resort area of Greece to identify the body of a fatal accident at a small-town hospital.
The film stars Angeliki Papoulia, known for her role in Yorgos Lanthimos’ Dogtooth, and Vangelis Mourikis, a veteran of Greek independent cinema who has appeared in over 30 films since 1982. Having toured numerous international festivals, Arcadia showcases Greek cinema’s growing global reach.

All We Imagine as Light (2024)
Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia’s debut feature All We Imagine as Light, awarded the Grand Prix at Cannes, offers a poetic and bold portrait of working-class life in contemporary Mumbai.
The film centers on three women: Prabha, who hasn’t heard from her husband in a year since he moved to Germany; Anu, who is involved in a secret romance; and their older colleague Parvaty, who faces the threat of eviction. While they are in different stages of their lives, the three women find friendship, solidarity, and sisterhood as they navigate their struggles and search for their place in the big city.
Kapadia’s work has resonated deeply with young Indian audiences, offering an honest and empathetic portrayal of life’s complexities.

Et la fête continue! (And the Party Goes On, 2023)
Robert Guédiguian’s Et la fête continue! tells the story of Rosa (Ariane Ascaride), a devoted nurse and mother who has always prioritized the wellbeing of others over her own happiness. When Harri enters her life, she begins to see that it’s never too late to chase her dreams.
This heartwarming tale encourages women to dream for themselves despite the heavy responsibilities they shoulder. The film premiered in Greece during the 2023 French-Language Film Festival and is now showing in Athens cinemas.

Wolf Man (2025)
Australian filmmaker Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man is a modern reboot of the 1941 American gothic classic. The film follows Blake (Christopher Abbott), a dedicated father who relocates with his wife (Julia Garner) and daughter Matilda Firth) to his inherited childhood home in rural Oregon.

Forgiveness (2005)

This haunting story by Israeli-American filmmaker Udi Aloni explores themes of trauma, memory, and historical reckoning. Philosopher Slavoj Žižek has praised the film, calling it “the most beautiful, powerful, and important film ever made about the tragedies of the region.”
