A large majority of Greeks believe the investigation into alleged wiretapping of political figures should be reopened, according to a new poll by Metron Analysis.

The survey found that 81% of respondents support relaunching the inquiry to include political figures, while only 14% consider the matter closed following a parliamentary decision.

Broad demand across political spectrum

The findings highlight a widespread demand for accountability that cuts across political affiliations and age groups. While support for reopening the investigation is particularly strong among left-leaning and center-left voters, a clear majority of respondents on the political right also back further scrutiny.

This broad consensus suggests that the issue continues to resonate deeply within Greek society, regardless of political alignment.

Younger generations push for transparency

The poll also reveals a generational divide. Younger respondents appear more insistent on transparency and accountability, while older age groups are somewhat more likely to accept that the case has been settled.

Still, even among older participants, the view that the investigation should continue remains dominant.
