Greece’s Minister of National Economy and Finance and President of the Eurogroup, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, travels to Frankfurt on Thursday, Jan. 29, for a series of meetings with the leadership of the European Central Bank (ECB) and the Deutsche Bundesbank.
During his visit, the Eurogroup President will hold a working meeting at the ECB’s headquarters with ECB President Christine Lagarde. The discussions will focus on monetary policy, the digital economy and the digital euro, the Savings and Investments Union, the outlook for the European and global economy, and the international role of the single currency.
Pierrakakis will also attend a working lunch with the President of the Deutsche Bundesbank, Joachim Nagel, where they are expected to review economic and monetary conditions in Germany and the euro area, as well as issues related to European economic governance.
In addition, he will meet with Stephan Leithner, Chief Executive Officer of the Deutsche Börse Group, to discuss investment, the digital economy, and the further deepening of Europe’s capital markets.
