Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis on Monday was the latest top Greek official to hold contacts with Middle East counterpart over the now explosive situation in the wider region with the attacks and counter-attacks launched by Israel and Iran at each other.
On Monday, Greece’s top diplomat spoke by phone with Qatari FM Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, with both men emphasizing a need for an end to the escalation of violence in the Mideast.

Both ministers also agreed to cooperate in efforts to prevent dangerous repercussions in the wider region from the clashes, while promoting regional and international peace and security.

Earlier, the Saudi foreign ministry announced through on X that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had received a call from Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Sunday to discuss the military confrontation between Israel and Iran.
